T2 UtilityEngineers joint venture with AECOM transitions to Cardno

Clearwater, Fla./Toronto, Canada — Since 2002, Cardno and AECOM have been joint venture owners of T2 Utility Engineering, Inc., a utility engineering infrastructure services firm in Canada. In February, Cardno, Inc. acquired AECOM’s 50 percent share of T2. The company will retain the T2 Utility Engineers Inc. name and will operate as a separate legal entity.

T2 has been built on a foundation of strong, experienced managers, supervisors, and field staff providing a full range of utility engineering services, including: subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility coordination, and utility design to a wide range of public and private clients.

T2 Utility Engineering personnel are located in six offices across Canada, including Montreal, Edmonton, and four in the Greater Toronto area. They join Cardno’s more than 100 U.S. offices in providing consulting, engineering, environmental, and field services.

Lawrence Arcand, President of T2, will remain in that role and has also taken on a leadership position in Cardno’s United States Utility Engineering and Surveying (UES) practice. The staff of both firms will collaborate to continue the strong growth of the UES business and best practices across North America and around the world.

“I look forward to this opportunity to fully integrate the vast experience from our teams in both Canada and the U.S. to ensure that we are providing our clients with the very best services related to utility engineering, SUE and survey,” said Lawrence Arcand.

Cardno’s Infrastructure Division President, Lance Lairscey said, “We are enthusiastic about bringing the T2 team fully into the Cardno group and look forward to providing exceptional project delivery across Canada and the United States.”
