Raleigh, N.C. — S&ME, Inc., an ENR Top 100 engineering firm, announced that Matthew (Matt) Ryan has been named president and will succeed Randy Neuhaus as CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Neuhaus, the company’s current CEO and chairman of the board, will continue to serve the company as chairman to provide mentorship and guidance. In his role as president and CEO, Ryan will provide leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of the firm while further developing the company’s growth strategy.
Ryan was selected to join S&ME after a three-year detailed search conducted by the company’s leadership team. He joins S&ME from HDR, Inc., a global architectural, engineering, and consulting firm, where he held the title of executive vice president and director of professional services. While there, Ryan attained a successful leadership track record in growing business, leading transformation, and creating consensus and cultural buy-in.
“Matt is an excellent addition to our team. He is an innovative leader who makes decisions that drive change,” said Neuhaus. “I look forward to working closely with Matt to ensure a smooth transition and bolster S&ME’s continued diversification and growth. I am confident our clients and employees will benefit from his leadership as he guides our firm into the future.”
“I have admired the success and innovation of S&ME for some time. The camaraderie that is instilled in the culture of this employee-owned business is exhilarating for me to be part of,” said Ryan. “I look forward to collaborating with this versatile team and continuing to bring safe, sustainable, quality solutions to our clients’ challenges.”
Prior to HDR, Inc, Ryan served as chief marketing officer and senior vice president at Industrial Piping, Inc., and senior policy director for the U.S. House of Representatives.
