The North Texas Tollway Authority approved PBS&J’s contract to provide construction management services for the next five years. Projects include the four-lane, 1.7-mile-long Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge in Denton County, Texas; and the Southwest Parkway, a six-lane, 9.1-mile controlled-access toll road, which includes a five-level interchange.

CTL|Thompson recently won a five-year contract with Larimer County, Colo., to provide construction observation and materials testing services on various projects, including roadway resurfacing, new roadway construction, and roadway re-construction.

The city of Chicago awarded STS Consultants, Ltd., a five-year contract totaling as much as $25 million to perform the quality assurance and acceptance testing of construction materials at O’Hare International Airport. STS will plan, mobilize, and seek accreditation for an on-site materials testing laboratory. Subconsultants include S.T.A.T.E. Testing LLC; Great Lakes Soils & Environmental Consultants, Inc.; Cotter Consulting, Inc.; and Geo Services, Inc. The work is part of the $2.88 billion, Phase I portion of the $6.6 billion O’Hare Modernization Program.

CH2M Hill’s Ports & Maritime Group was selected by the North Carolina State Ports Authority to manage development of a new, 600-acre container terminal in the Southport area of the Cape Fear River in Brunswick County, N.C. CH2M Hill will function as the owner’s agent in the $1 billion, public-private partnership project. The program comprises project management, planning and design of port and intermodal facilities, management of environmental issues, public outreach, and overall support.

HDR was selected to provide design development/conceptual and preliminary engineering services for the North Corridor of the Houston METRO Solutions plan. North Corridor is one of five planned extensions to be added to Houston’s light rail system. It presently is proposed as a light rail transit and guided rapid transit system.
