MWH Constructors selected as CM/GC for Logan, Utah WWTP

Broomfield, Colo. — The City of Logan, Utah selected MWH Constructors to serve as the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) for the new $107 million Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTP) project. The new facility will produce higher quality effluent flows to the nearby Cutler Reservoir and, altogether, will allow the City of Logan to treat a greater amount of wastewater, to a higher quality, with a smaller footprint.

The City of Logan’s new Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility is replacing an existing lagoon system that currently provides wastewater treatment for the City and a number of surrounding communities due to updates in effluent limits, the need to more efficiently clean and filter water, and estimated population growth in the area. Once complete, the new facility will increase the City’s treatment capacity up to 18 mgd.

“It is a privilege to be selected by the City of Logan for the new Logan Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility project,” said Blair Lavoie, president of MWH Constructors. “We look forward to partnering with the City of Logan to deliver a high-quality facility that will improve and protect the water quality for local residents and surrounding communities for years to come.”

As part of the CM/GC contract, MWH Constructors will provide preconstruction and construction-phase services on the project. Construction on the project is expected to begin during the summer of 2018 with substantial completion expected by October 2021.

With a presence in Utah for more than 40 years, MWH Constructors has completed nearly $300 million in wastewater construction in Utah as the CM/GC. Most recently, MWH Constructors was ranked as the No. 1 international contractor in wastewater treatment and the No. 3 contractor in sewer and waste by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Global Sourcebook and Top 400 Contractors Source Book, respectively.
