Denver — The International Erosion Control Association Region One (IECA) recently held a vote for the new association tagline. Votes have been tallied and the new tagline is, “Protecting Soil and Water Resources.”
“The new tagline highlights the mission of IECA Region One. Everything IECA does, from education, to professional development, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and networking, boils down to the preservation of soil and water,” says Joanna Fetherolf, Education Director
IECA is the leading association for the stormwater, erosion and sediment control industry. IECA helps industry professionals develop their skills and further their careers by providing access to unique and relevant content and exclusive member services. Their 2,000 members represent over 30 countries and 22 fields of professional practice. IECA’s diverse membership supplies a unique network of specialists who can solve a broad range of problems caused by soil erosion and its by-product — sediment.
Regional events throughout the United States and Canada provide members with the opportunity to discuss issues pertinent to their region. The IECA Annual Conference brings together members and industry professionals from around the world to connect and learn about the latest discoveries and innovations.
“Today, industry professionals are gathering in Texas to discuss stormwater control issues specific to the region. And we just concluded successful events in Edmonton and Seattle,” says Fetherolf. “Right now, we are preparing for our upcoming 2019 IECA Annual Conference, which will bring together the most innovative minds in the erosion, sediment control and stormwater industry.”
These in-person events and online education resources all work to ensure that industry professionals are equipped with the tools they need to protect soil and water resources. The new tagline puts that mission front and center.
