Horizontal Directional Drilling Academy scheduled in February

Milwaukee — The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is supporting the annual Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Academy, Feb. 22-23 in Tempe, Ariz. The intensive course focuses on HDD pre-construction, design and material selection, construction, and operations. The program features Samuel Ariaratnam, Ph.D., P.E., P.Eng, professor and Construction Engineering Program chair at Arizona State University.

To view the agenda, list of speakers and to register, visit https://hddacademy.com. Attendees can earn 1.8 CEUs.

“AEM is pleased to participate in the HDD Academy as a supporting organization; it is a great event that brings horizontal drilling stakeholders together with owners and operators in the utility excavation industry to discuss the latest technologies and training to further their knowledge and capabilities,” said William “Bernie” Bernhard, AEM technical and safety services manager.

Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction and AEM member Benjamin Media Inc. host the event.

AEM’s underground utility awareness campaign promotes safety and damage prevention with best-practices resources available online (www.aem.org/uua). Several AEM equipment operating safety manuals specifically cover underground excavation (visit www.safetymaterials.org).
