Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. acquires KBGE

Austin, Texas — Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) acquired civil engineering firm KBGE. With this acquisition, CEC will expand its operations in Austin, Texas, and add an office in Oklahoma City.

With more than 20 locations across the United States and nearly 30 years of operation, CEC ranks among the nation’s Top 200 Design and Environmental Firms. The addition of the KBGE team further builds on CEC’s capabilities, allowing the company to enhance its offerings in Austin and better serve clients across the country.

“Acquiring KBGE represents a significant milestone for CEC as the company grows its presence in Texas and the Southwest,” said Ken Miller, P.E., President and CEO of CEC. “Bringing the best of both firms together will allow us to provide our clients the highest level of service and expertise, wherever they are located.”

Established in 2011, KBGE joins CEC with extensive experience in consulting, civil engineering and land development. The 38-person KBGE team of certified engineers and surveyors has successfully led clients through zoning cases, due diligence investigations, subdivision, platting, and the site development permitting process for a variety of projects across Texas and Oklahoma.

“We believe our capabilities and our portfolio are a perfect complement to CEC’s existing offerings,” said KBGE founding partner Chad Kimbell, P.E. “By joining CEC, we will be able to provide our clients the most effective and comprehensive service possible, further advancing development in Texas, Oklahoma and beyond.”

KBGE will continue to operate as usual and retain its name through the end of the year before transitioning fully under the CEC brand. CEC will begin to integrate new services through the KBGE team to its regional and national clients immediately, and KBGE’s existing clients will gain new access to an array of services not previously offered.

“This partnership is an exciting next step for KBGE,” said founding partner Gabe Bruehl, P.E. “I’m extremely proud of the company we’ve built over the past seven years. We look forward to continuing to grow our expertise with CEC and offer our clients the highest quality of service available in the market.”
